Since nut foods are hard items, the thickness of the food packaging bag and the strength and impact resistance of its materials will affect the performance of the packaging. Additionally, some nut food packaging bags are sealed using inert gases, so the sealing properties are also crucial.

Since nut foods are hard items, the thickness of the food packaging bag and the strength and impact resistance of its materials will affect the performance of the packaging. Moreover, some nut food packaging bags are sealed using inert gases, so sealing properties are also crucial. Below, we’ll analyze the testing methods for assessing the sealing and impact resistance of these packaging bags.
1. Testing for Heat-Sealing Performance: The sealing strength of the heat-sealed areas is verified through a heat-sealing strength test. If the heat-sealing strength is inadequate, issues such as bag leaks and ruptures are likely to occur.
II. For sealing performance testing, a sealing performance test (negative pressure method) is conducted to identify areas in the finished packaging that are prone to air leakage or pressure loss.
3. To evaluate the resistance of packaging to impact from contained substances, we conduct verification tests using the burst pressure test (positive-pressure method). In this test, gas is introduced into the packaging, and we examine whether the finished package ruptures under the internal gas pressure. This helps identify the locations in the finished nut product packaging that are prone to rupture and determine their pressure resistance strength.
4. For the analysis of gas composition inside packaging, verification is conducted through headspace residual oxygen and carbon dioxide performance tests. These tests can monitor the proportional content of various gases—such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, and ammonia—within the finished packaged product, thereby determining the sealing performance of the finished package and ensuring that the gas composition inside the package meets the quality requirements for nut products.
V. For testing drop resistance performance, we provide relevant drop-test procedures to further verify whether the finished packaging will suffer bag rupture when dropped from a specified height.
